It is so beautiful what you wrote. I read a few times already because I felt some jealousy of you... I never wrote with a fountain pen! My hands would shake and I probably would split some ink but it would be a dream coming true.

About your intriguing question... It's a subject that only will be noticed when it's too late. Not only students don't "learn cursive words" as they don't know how to spell them. There's no need for my feared calligraphy notebooks or visits to the library anymore. Now, you just take a pic or copy and paste something in the computer.

Which brings to another begged question:

How would a student survive the school years without internet access?
